Free The Children We Stand Together

Since 2009 Free The Children, in partnership with the Martin Aboriginal Education Initiative (MAEI), has introduced more than 400 schools to issues faced everyday by Aboriginal Canadian - fostering an understanding and raising awareness of Aboriginal culture and history through the We Stand Together campaign. On February 12th, guests were invited to celebrate the launch of this year’s campaign with an opening ceremony at Toronto’s Monarch Park Collegiate, as more than 50 Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students congregated for group discussions and activities. The Right Honourable Paul Martin, David Martin, Waneek Horn-Miller and Craig Kielburger, Founder of Free The Children, educated and inspired the students with their passion on the subject. We Stand Together is an initiative to close that gap, foster understanding and celebrate Aboriginal culture, history and tradition amongst Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal young people.
