Olympic Team in Jamaica
A couple of local doctors are Team Jamaica’s secret weapon. The have been at every major competition this year caring for the athletes as they strive to realize their dreams later this month in London. Judging by the sprint performances this past weekend at Jamaica’s Olympic Trials, the athletes are right on track to dominate the podium.
Dr Ty Ashcroft and Dr Thien Dang-Tan are a staple in the Official Organizing Committee’s medical tent. They work alongside medical doctors and paramedics, but are the busiest pair by far. They see many of the athletes for Performance Care, not just if someone has an injury or problem. Pre-competition, these Chiropractors work to fine tune the athletes’ movement and make adjustments to help enhance their performance. Post-competition they utilize techniques such as ART and Acupuncture to speed up recovery and aid tissue repair and regeneration. In Jamaica, coaches line up their athletes to get their ‘tune-ups’ from Dr. Dang-Tan and Dr. Ashcroft. They know that Performance Care can make the critical difference in an arena where fractions of a second count for everything. www.omegahealthandfitness.com
