2nd Annual Game of Life Run/Walk

On April 29, 2012, Commonwealth Games Canada (CGC), in partnership with The Running Room and Mizuno Canada, held the 2nd annual Game of Life Run/Walk (10K and 5K) in the cities of Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Halifax. The goal of the event is to raise funds to support CGC’s grassroots sport programs in Africa and the Caribbean, which use the transformative power of sport to change lives and strengthen communities. Planning for the Commonwealth Games is a key focus for CGC, however an important part of the CGC mandate is to provide sport-based social development programming through its "International Development Through Sport (IDS)" program. IDS supports 18 grassroots sport programs in 26 countries in Africa and the Caribbean, reaching over 250,000 youth in 2011. For more info www.commonwealthgames.ca/ids/
