2008 May > Fred Roberts Rides for Cancer

Beach resident Fred Roberts will be one of 50 Canadians riding in the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride. This fundraising event stretches 7,600 km from a beach in Vancouver to the coast of Halifax. Fred will be riding the entire distance in 19 days. At times riders will take turns riding around the clock and at other times riders will be riding in unison from town to town. On June 13, the group will be in Toronto. A huge event is planned at the Hospital for Sick Children, friends and guests are than welcomed to show their support. Funds raised through the event will be shared between Canada’s 17 pediatric oncology hospitals and charitable organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for children living with and beyond cancer.
