2008 May > Toronto East Region Spelling Bee

On April 5, 75 kids competed for the Toronto East Region Spelling Bee Championship. Children competed in three separate divisions, Primary (Ages 6 to 8), Junior (9 to 11) and Intermediate (12 to 14). Guest speaker, Paula Fletcher, reached out to children before the competition, explaining how big an achievement this is for every participant. Then spellers took the centre stage, battling through some tough words that would challenge the best of us. Gerrard Square, located at 1000 Gerrard Street hosted this memorable event.
