Joy Bistro Fundraiser for local riders

It was a beautiful summer night for the charity function held at the Joy Bistro that helped raise funds for the Tony Griffin Cycle for life ride. The participants, long-time friends Heidi and Tami, both from Leslieville, were present and hosted guests who enjoyed live music, a silent auction, door prizes, and complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Just over $11,000 was raised for the ride.

The Cycle for Life is a relay style bike ride that will take Tami and Heidi from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Austin, Texas - for a total ride of 4000 km. They'll start pedaling on October 14 with 50 other riders and will join forces with Lance Armstrong and his LiveStrong Challenge in Texas to raise funds and awareness for the fight against cancer.

Thanks very much to the Joy Bistro at 884 Queen Street East for hosting the fundraiser. To help support Tami and Heidi visit www.tonygriffinfoundation.com and select sponsor a rider: Thanks for your support and LIVESTRONG!!
