The Beach School students and staff voting to extend the school day
Beach School Extends School Day
Recently, staff and students at the Beach School unanimously voted to make their school day an extra hour long so the day now runs until 4pm instead of 3pm.
The Beach School is a not-for-profit, independent school for children aged 4 to 19, located at 42 Edgewood Avenue. This vote was an example of the school's democratic decision-making and self-initiated learning.
Similar to a public or private school, the Beach school year runs from September to June, with scheduled holidays in between.
