The Big Island of Hawaii is absolutely incredible. On this relatively small piece of real estate, you can go from moonscape to rainforest to hot beaches to steaming calderas. You can be immersed in typical torrential rains, and drive a few hours to another part of the island where rain rarely falls. Just up the hill you will be in coffee country, where afternoon showers are not only expected but necessary. From altitude gains and losses to a large percentage of the world’s microclimates, Hawaii has lots to offer.
